
Event Overview
ICAR-All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Spices, Dapoli Centre, College of Horticulture, Dr. B. S. Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli has successfully organized a SCSP (Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan) programme at College of Horticulture, Dapoli on 10th January, 2026. A total of 58 farmers participated in the said seminar, of whom 21 farmers were from the SC category.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. S. G. Bhave, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, along with Dr. P. U. Shahare, Director of Research, Dr. R. C. Gajbhiye, Horticulturist, AICRP on Spices, and other staff of College of Horticulture, Dapoli, whose presence added significance to the event.
During the programme, farmers were briefed about improved agricultural practices and the importance of quality inputs for enhancing productivity.
Input Distribution to Beneficiaries
Spices Planting Materials
As part of SCSP support, spices planting materials including Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Kokum, and Black Pepper were distributed to the beneficiary farmers.
Farm Implements & Equipment
Farm implements and sprayers were distributed to support modern farming practices and help farmers adopt efficient cultivation methods.
Fertilizers & Bio-inputs
Fertilizers including SSP, Vermicompost, and Trichoderma were distributed. The distribution aimed to support farmers in improving crop production and adopting better farming practices.
Programme Impact
The programme contributed towards capacity building and strengthening the livelihood of SCSP beneficiary farmers. The distribution of quality planting materials, implements, and bio-inputs is expected to significantly improve crop production and encourage adoption of sustainable farming practices among the SC farming community in the region.
